High Speed Steels Heat Treatment
High speed steels used for cutters and high speed press tools are regularly done in our shop including M2, M4, DRM1, DRM2, DRM3 and various similar commercial alloys are done on a regular basis in our shop. These alloys are usually done within the week that they arrive in the shop to Customer specified ASM or SAE specifications. Long, thin, high speed steel components are typically heat treated in racks so that components are held vertically to reduce distortion.
